Scars are permanent!: Since scars are permanent, treatment is directed at preventing/minimizing new lesions that become infected and scar. You should see a dermatologist who can evaluate your boils (perhaps culture and biopsy) and recommend appropriate treatment. You may require topical or oral antibiotics, Accutane or other prescriptions, and sometimes surgery to drain and unroof chronic tracts. Good luck!

IBD OR PILONIDAL: There may be many causes for boils such as inflammatory bowel disease or pilonidal cysts or hidradenitis suppuritiva which may benefit from medical treatment. Discuss the possible causes with your physician.
