What could cause deep stabbing and throbbing pain at the base of left calf muscle (inner leg), burning and radiating pain at base of achilles extending around inside of left ankle and numbness in outer three toes on left foot?

Tarsal tunnel : Description sounds somewhat like tarsal tunnel syndrome which is an entrapped nerve in the ankle but could also be referred lumbar radiculopathy (pinched nerve in back) or just really bad tendinitis compressing the nerves of the lower leg. Sounds like an exam and some nerve conduction velocities would be helpful.
