E coli is one of the most common bacteria that can lead to urinary tract infections. Antibiotics is the correct treatment. It is important to have a urine culture done which can show whether or not the bacteria is sensitive to the particular antibiotic being used. If so and the infection continues to occur then the next step is to see a urologist.
