No,, see a gyn: U need antibiotics either vaginal or oral, you can take acidolphilus or pre- biotics to help prevent getting BV but that will not treat bv.

Nothing effective: Bv responds to prescription antibiotics there really isn't anything over the counter that is going to work.

Boric Acid?: I would recommend the standard treatment of oral or vaginal flagyl.
Intravaginal boric acid 600 mg at bed time provides symptomatic relief. The frequency can be gradually decreased to once or twice a week. You could try a probiotic preparation such as vsl #3 with 110 billion colonies of probiotic bacteria per capsule, but this therapy is unproven.

Check up: Bv usually needs to be treated by prescription antibiotics. If you have frequent recurrences, talk to your doctor about possible ways to balance your pH and keep the vaginal bacteria in better balance. Some people used over the counter products such as rephresh or luvena. Some physicians use vaginal suppositories containing boric acid, but these need to be made by a compounding pharmacist.
