Some can: Drops labeled "gets the red out" have a vasoconstrictor which can whiten the eye temporarily. This is useful for pictures and public appearances. But the redness with these drops comes back quickly and sometimes worse. First have your ophthalmologist determine why it is red and most likely you can use over the counter lubricating drops for relief.
