A member asked:

How soon after injury should i receive a tetanus shot?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The recommendations vary depending on past vaccine history and wound. If the vaccine series was completed within the past 5 years and the wound minor & cleaned quickly, none needed. After 5-10yr, not unless wound is complex or dirty.At>10yr yes for all wounds within 24hrs.If never vaccinated or initial series not complete, the sooner the better.
