IT CAN: Certainly while intoxicated you lose inhibitions and can have a "personality change". Also long term effects of alcohol on mood and physical condition. If you question your alcohol use, then you clearly have an alcohol problem get help there is so much that you can do like aa, medications, detox, therapy, and treatment for depression or anxiety that may underlie the abuse.

Personality; alcohol: What changes with alcohol abuse (particularly alcoholism) is behavior. There is no such thing as an "addictive personality." addiction is physiological, as someone becomes more dependent and drinks more and more, the behavior changes are more frequent and more pronounced, making it appear to be a personality change. Treatment programs and aa work! for those who don't like aa, try lifering or sos.
