A member asked:

For a year now my b12 is at 2000, what could cause this? i keep reading about leukemia being linked with this, my dad just pasted away with leukemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CML and vit b12: While there is an association w/ elevated B12 levels and cml, we don't use vitamin B12 as a diagnostic test for cml. We go by other things like history, lab tests like CBC w/ diff, chemistry panel, physical exam and bone marrow biopsy. Yours could be elevated for many reasons including: diabetes, kidney disease, chf, and liver disease. Or that could just be what's normal for you.
