Antibiotics...: Can treat salmonellosis but the diarrhea goes away even without treatment in most cases.

Depends: It is always caused by a bacteria called salmonella . We only treat it if absolutely necessary as there is a greater incidence of a severe complication called hemolytic uremic syndrome when antibiotics are used.
