BMI: Is defined as body mass in kg divided by the square of your height in meters. If you don't want to do the math or need it in pounds/inches, there are thousands of bmi calculators on the internet or as phone apps.

Is BMI reliable?: Hi erikka!
body mass index (bmi) is only a measure of height & weight. As a result, a very muscular person may have the same BMI as an obese, overfat person - with very different health risks. Bmi also does not give information about dangerous disease-causing visceral belly fat. I prefer bioelectrical impedance analysis - gives a full body composition -fat, muscle, bone, hydration status.

Mathematical: It is a specific formula to calculate the bmi, based on one's own height and weight. Bmi = weight (kg) divided by height (m) squared.
