Many things!: First, arthritis of the hip causes "groin" pain. However, this pain would be increased with weight bearing. A kidney stone can cause groin pain. And there are numerous gynecologic problems that refer pain to the groin. If chronic, or\severe, see your doctor. I always encourage patient to try a drug that is otc, to see if pain relief occurs.
