Dehydration.: Orthostatic vital signs are performed to assess the hear rate and BP response to various postures - laying and standing generally. If a person is dehydrated there is typically a 15+ point rise in the pulse rate and a 15 point fall in the BP with standing. These are "loose" figures and some will argue for a more strict or loose standard, but the general principle is as noted.
