How can i deal with trichophagia?

Therapy: Like many conditions that have some sort of associated obsessive behavior the combination of a medication and counseling may hold the best promise. It is not an easy thing for us to stop doing something, be it scratching, picking, smoking or any one of a number of other behaviors. Good luck to you.

Trichophagia: Trichophagia (eating or chewing/mouthing hair) may be accompanied by hair pulling (trichitillomania), and is generally a compulsive activity. Like many other ocd-spectrum problems, it may be helped with cognitive behavioral therapy and medication (possibly ssri) if needed. First step is an evaluation with a psychiatrist or psychotherapist. Good luck to you.
