What kind if medicine can u take for severe pain that does not have aspirin in it?

Several: Tylenol (acetaminophen) with Codeine is often used. Vicodin (tylenol (acetaminophen) with hydrocodone) is also frequently given. Ultram is a non-narcotic alternative. There are other, more potent medicines that can be given for very severe pain.
