Be present: You asked about your friend earlier, but didn't mention his job loss. This is painful and scary for most, & it can impact feelings of self-worth. Circumstances of job loss vary, and so does one's ability to regroup. You can be present to his feelings; do things with him that cost little money; and encourage him in self-care (exercise, eating, etc) while seeking out new work options. See comment:.
