Are there risks involved in getting an amniocentesis or cvs?

Yes: Both have a risk of miscarriage. The risk is about 4 times higher with a cvs than an amniocentesis.

Roughly the same: Amniocentesis involves a needle anywhere into your uterus. Cvs is more directed. I'm not sure if one has statistically more risks than another.
