Nausea/Vomiting: Stomach virus may start with vague symtoms, but vomiting and nausea are most prominent symptoms over first 24-48 hrs. Additonal symptoms can include body aches, headache, abdominal pain, and even sore throat. Fever can be part of illness first 1-3 dys. Most important is to stay well-hydrated by increasing intake of caffeine-free, low sugar fluids.

Gastroenteritis: Gastroenteritis symptoms may include: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps/pain, headaches, muscular aches ; pains as well as fever (low grade). Bloody stools are not usually associated with gastroenteritis.
