Lung function: Pulmonologists are lung function specialists. This is a subset of internal medicine with extra training in lung disease. If you have breathing difficulties, some heart problems related to the lungs, asthma, chest pain and coughing with production of sputum which looks suspicious, you might need a lung doctor to sort it out. Your family doctor can refer you to a good one.
