What do you do when you have a concussion from football?

Stop getting hit: Repetitive brain injuries produce permanent damage. Any true concussion involves brain injury. You have to allow proper healing initially, then avoid any subsequent damage. Helmets provide minimal protection and delude you into thinking you are invincible.

You Don't Play.: I agree w dr. Goldie. Have you been medically evaluated? Hopefully so. This is a serious issue. Ensure that your coach is aware. Do not play until you have been medically cleared by your physician or a neurologist. Never play with neurologic symptoms. That was the doctor talking. If i was your mother, i wouldn't want you to play again.

Rest: I agree with drs goldie and fowler. I would like to add that in our community recently, a high school football player died from a head injury he sustained while playing football. It is important to not return to play while still experiencing any symptoms.
