Yes can go for it: Provided with youur single kidney, you are leading a normal healthy life, your don't have abnormal kidney functions. Normally after donation, the other kidney increases in size and compensates for the donated kidney. There should not be any problem in going for the surgey, provided you are cleared medically by the internist and anesthetist.

Kidney donor: Yes, you can still have the lap band, but you can also have the sleeve or gastric bypass. I have done all of these operations in people that have both donated and received kidneys.
