A member asked:

What causes the excessive thirst and high blood sugar?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diabetes: As blood sugar rises, the sugar becomes a diuretic once exceeding the kidney threshold of about 180 mg/dl. The more one voids, the thirstier one gets as the large amounts of urine excreted cause dehydration.
