Easy: Fatal pneumonia in the elderly is often triggered by common germs in the upper airway of anyone. They are easily passed by touching the face or mouth followed by touching objects in the environment. The next person to touch that door handle, chair, etc. will contaminate their fingers & eventually pass it to their face/airway.
