Narrowing of arterioles vs venules in the retina. Tortuosity (wiggly course instead of smooth curve or straight line) of blood vessels of the retina. A-V nicking, which occurs when a venule crosses an arteriole and appears to disappear at the crossing. Retinal hemorrhages. Sometimes retinal edema or vascular occlusion (mini stroke in eye). https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21509040/
