Who knows: There are many listed possible remedies. Some include: vanilla extract, garlic, essential oils, certain plants like - lemon thyme, citronella, lavender, basil, catnip, pennyroyal, tansy, and marigolds. Commercial products (other than deet) include: avon' skin so soft, bounce sheets, lister inequity household vinegar (50/50), Vicks vapo rub. Good luck.

Mosquito bites: Store aloe vera gel in refrigerator & apply to affected area. Rub basil leaf on bite. It repels mosquitoes & has anti-inflammatory effect. Consider applying calamine lotion or crushed ice or a cold pack. A 1 to 1 mix of water & baking soda is effective when applied to lesions.
