Important question: Free radicals are produced by oxidative stress, which happens during stress, metabolism, sickness, and eating certain kinds of food. Free radicals damage the body, mostly by damaging dna and interfering with important metabolic processes. Anti-oxidants absorb these free radicals and therefore decrease the amount of damage.
