Yes...so far: While current data does not indicate use of adult stem cells, more appropriately called progenitor cells, is dangerous, it is also true that there has been insufficient time to evaluate long term risks. Embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells have risk of inducing cancers including teratomas.

Hematopoietic... Yes: We use hematopoietic stem or progenitors cells routinely in practice for treatment of hematologic malignancies as autologous or allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. Their use in this particular domain is safe.

Stem cells safety: Stem cell safety depends on what kind and where it is being used. Embryonic stem cells have been found to be too costly and risky for causing cancers compared to adult stem cells.
