Drinking age: The idea is that with greater years, people might be more self-responsible about their drinking. In adolescence, most people don't realize that they aren't invulnerable or that harm can happen to them. I don't think this recognition happens magically at 21, but maybe raising the drinking age is an attempt to give more people time to grow up in a healthy way.
