Less: Choose fresh fruits and veggies most often, high quality protein next, then mix in some whole grain carbs and drink lots water, ( 30 - 48 oz/day). Avoid sugared foods, sodas and juices . Try to walk some every day, (build up to 45minutes). If you must watch tv, try riding a stationary bike while you do.

Healthful diet: Lean protein, good fats, low glycemic carbohydrates, fruits & veggies, whole grains; avoid fast food & simple sugars. Portion control is key: use salad plate instead of dinner plate; no second portions, drink glass of water before eating (partly fills stomach so feel full sooner). Combine diet with moderate exercise to burn off calories. Aim for 2 lbs per week. Support groups help.
