Dermatologist did scrape test (KOH test) on assumed ringworm but didnt see fungus. However I had just shaved with a manual razor over the ringworm spot less than an hour before. Could this have affected the test by removing the top layer of skin?
Derm did KOH test for fungus but didnt see any, then I told him I shaved with a razor less than an hour before and hd confirmed that DOES interfere with results by removing top layer of skin. Is a biopsy another way of detecting fungus?
