Is it common for teenagers to have eye floaters?

Unusual: Floaters that are benign mostly appear in older age groups related to changes in the character of the vitreous fluids in the back of the eye. In teenagers, floaters are quite uncommon and should be a cause, if new, for an evaluation by your ophthalmologist as soon as possible.

Not common: It is very Uncommon for teenagers to have floaters. A teenager who is having these symptoms should see an ophthalmologist as soon as possible for a complete dilated eye examination to rule out any retinal tears.
