Many possibilities: Joint pains have many possible causes. These include arthritis, infection, tendinitis, and bursitis. If the whole right arm hurts, it could even be something related to a pinched nerve in the neck. Definitely need to see a physician. For an exam and possible lab, x-rays. History of any trauma, fever, or family history of arthritis conditions is important to know to sort this out.
