Periodic depression: If depression is recurrent enough in your life that you're bothered by it, you deserve a workup and possible treatment. I don't know if the age on your question is accurate, but if this comes in timing with premenstrual periods it could be pms or pmdd -- both treatable. You can start with your family physician, who may also want you to see psychiatrist. Good luck to you (and your husband too).
