Not usually: A bad trauma can cause dissection of vertebral and carotid arteries at the same time but rare. Carotid bruit can indicate a stenosis which is usually atherosclerosis. Fibromuscular dysplasia can cause narrowing. Fmd is usually in women. Fmd can affect the vertebral arteries and the carotid arteries. Fmd can cause dissection in vertebral and carotid arteries.
