Seconds: The most common form of aneurysm is the berry aneurysm. This is usually from the deep structures of the brain and pours blood into the spinal fluid. Severe headache, nausea, vomiting, and then progressive obtundation develop. This can progress to coma and death. If it ruptures into the brain, the symptoms are an acute stroke that may also progress to coma and death.

Rarely, congenital berry aneurysms present with pupillary dilatation and/ or double vision as expansion, but most often is an acute rupture and within seconds to minutes a profound headache, nausea and vomiting, and progressive coma commence. This is indeed a medical emergency and 50% are DOA on arrival to a medical facility.
