Many: The commonest cause of burning in the eye is due to dry eye provided there has been no injury to the eye. Pain and pressure can have many reasons and need a thorough evaluation by an ophthalmologist.

Pressure: Eye pressure may be caused by glaucoma, migraine, thyroid eye disease, and sinus pressure. Burning may be caused by dry eye, eye drops, chemical injury, and blepharitis. Call your doctor is these problems persist.
