Break through bleed: If this is the 1st or 2nd month on a new pill, it should resolve itself. Drink extra fluids, take Ibuprofen and hot baths to slow bleeding. If a new event on a pill you've been on, probably an isolated event and will resolve, same rec as above and consider double up on pill till stops. (will need extra pk from your clinic). If recurrent, need to find other option for awhile at least.

See a Gyn: Usually heavier cycles can occasionally occur even while on ocps. However, you should check a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy related complications. If negative, you should still see your doc since your risks of endometrial hyperplasia increase after 35 years of age. You will be evaluated for polyps, fibroids, or hyperplasia with an ultrasound and biopsy if needed. Take care.
