Unclear question: I've heard nothing here that suggests he needs an endoscopy, so i guess the short answer is no. A camera down his throat is not the only way to examine him. But if there is some other reason to examine his throat or lower airway, then endoscopy is very safe and usually the only way to look for certain abnormalities.
