A member asked:

What determines my blood type?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Glycolipids: Carbohydrate/sugar molecules attached to lipids in the red cell membrane determine the major blood types. There are at least 29 different blood groups systems and hundreds of different blood types. See this site for more info. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/nbk2264/.
