A member asked:

Why should i get the flu shot this winter?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To avoid illness: During the season the flu affects a large volume of the population & causes upwards of 30 + deaths/yr in the us alone. The vaccine must change on a regular basis to keep up with mutations/variations in the flu strains that prevent prior illness from making you immune. The vaccine is effective in preventing the strains in the vaccine but may not cover every strain around.
