Sometimes: Depending upon the severity of the visual loss, glasses and even optical telescopes can provide useful vision. This is commonly seen in our low-vision macular degeneration patients.

Yes: Corrective lens enhance existing vision (no restoration), so custom magnifiers, telescopes, cctv, etc can help low vision patients. Sometimes the telescope can be implantable as an intraocular lens for some amd patients.

Not usually: A corrective lens is part of an overall strategy to deal with low vision. A low vision specialist can help with this. In many states, low vision services are free of charge through the department of the blind.
