Wt loss- antioxidant: The acai berry contains antioxidants (phytochemicals) which reduce free radical formation & are reported to help protect from some cancers. It is also reported to assist with weight loss however there is not yet scientific research to back this claim nor is a mechanism for weight loss known at this time. It is also used as an oil in cosmetics.
