Likely Diabetes: Diabetes mellitus is much more frequently associated with sixth nerve palsies than migraine. Though blurred vision is a common compliant with migraine, the double vision you are experiencing when looking to the side is not typical. The sixth nerve palsy will resolve over time, though you should have an MRI of the brain to exclude causes other than diabetes.

Diabetic nerve palsy: Diabetic ocular muscle palsies are common and will usually resolve spontaneously in 3-4 months. There can be other causes that need to be investigated if it does not resolve. Your ophthalmologist can help you with this problem.
