Could be anything: A wise doctor discusses results of lab tests and x-rays in person, instead of by messaging or on the phone. The human to human interaction is very important, regardless of whether there is good news or bad news, but especially important if there is bad news. So, follow the doctor's lead and don't think about it until sitting with the doctor.
