An infection.: Epididymoorchitis is an inflammation of the testicle and/or epididymis, usually caused by an infection. It presents as pain, swelling, redness, and tenderness of the testicle. The cause is usually gonorrhea or chlamydia in men younger that 35, and e. Coli or pseudomonas in older men. There are rare non infectious causes as well. Treatment depends on the cause and severity at presentation.
