It depends: Treatment depends on the specific syndrome. Pfapa responds to Prednisone and tonsillectomy, and usually resolves by adolescence. Familial mediterranean fever can be treated with medication called colchicine. Many of the syndromes respond to medicines that block il-1 (an inflammatory protein), while others respond to blockade of tnf (another inflammatory protein). See a specialist for more info.
