Shingles: This sounds more like shingles which is often accompanied by pain prior to the rash and continues once the rash is present. See your doctor there are medications that might help.

herpes zoster: You may have a condition known as herpes zoster, which causes shooting pain, similar to sciatica, and a vesicular rash. Consult with a doctor.

No: Most likely the shingles was acting up bringing on pain and then the rash/blisters showed up. Occasionally you can have both shingles and sciatica at the same time, but that is highly unlikely. If you are worried see your PCP and maybe get referred to a spine specialist.
