Consult MD: Since both medications have a sedative effect, your prescribing md, with a full medical history can give the best guidance. Both anxiety and the "real pain" of surgery have a synergistic effect, it is best to treat both, as they are components in your suffering. Surgical pain responds to medicine, perhaps the anxiety component can respond to a psychotherapeutic strategy. Good luck!
