A member asked:

Can i take celex during pregnacy i m taking celex since 2 year?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Celexa (generic citalopram) is classified fda pregnancy category c (animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus but there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans showing harm.) there are studies showing harm to the fetus in mothers suffering untreated depression. The decision to use antidepressants during pregnancy must be made on a case by case basis.
