My sister 21, is 28 weeks pregnant, takes 30mg of celexa daily, after she takes it she lays around most the day should she be on a lower dose?

Celexa and pregnant?: I’m not aware that this is a medication that should be taken during pregnancy. Is her Gynecologist aware that she’s taking it? Has she been taking it all along? Has she been receiving prenatal care? I’d recommend stopping this medication during pregnancy.

Maybe: Celexa isn't absolutely contraindicated during, being category C, and wouldn't be stopped abruptly, she has been taking it already for the past 28 weeks. Her best bet is to confer with her obstetrician / psychiatrist, if none were consulted during this pregnancy, she should start now without any delay, wish her all the best and a healthy outcome

This decision : should not be made lightly. The risk of being on the medication versus not taking should be carefully weighed. Recommend coordination of care between obstetrician and psychiatrist.
