Carotid application: If you put the patch over or near the carotid artery in the front of the neck, the symptoms you describe are quite likely due to the direct effect of Lidocaine on the carotid sinus. Lidoderm should only be applied to the back of the neck, not the front or side of the neck.

Yes!: If someone has these symptoms after placing a patch which takes time to absorb, it needs to be removed immediately. If those symptoms don't improve , be seen emergently. Symptoms as listed above can be very serious.
